I clicked through, and I wasn’t disappointed: not only did the GitHub page include the exact same content as the iTunes U course, but it looked better and included the missing Xcode project downloads — plus Keynote files for class lectures on various design concepts.

The larger iPad Pro is probably also the only iPad with sufficiently advanced hardware to run Xcode. Even on a powerful Mac, Xcode can really get your CPU working hard and consumes a lot of RAM. It’s possible the 9.7″ iPad Pro could run Xcode as well, but its 2GB of RAM (vs. the 4GB in the larger iPad Pro) might be too small. Either way, compile times will be slower than on a modern Mac. The A9X is a fast CPU for a mobile device, but it’s a lot slower than the CPU on a new iMac or even MacBook Pro.
Our process begins and ends with the client. From first contact and discussion of your idea through to final release on the App Store, everything we do is client-centered. To learn more about our development process, please download our process overview.
Have you ever wanted to share code between apps? I have and honestly, code reuse with Xcode (in particular between apps) is not as straightforward as you might imagine. You do have some options which I’ll talk about here and once you get something set up this problem will be solved easily.
Now that you’re up to speed with Swift, it’s time to get familiar with its older sibling – Objective-C. Objective-C has a rich history and a very different way of doing things that may come as a surprise. In this course we’re going to take a tour through the Objective-C language using Swift as our base. By the end of this course you will know the ins and outs of using the Objective-C language and be able to use either Swift, Objective-C or both to build iOS apps.
You can have up to 12 pages of apps within folders on iPhone, which means you can hide apps deep inside a folder where someone would really need to search to find the app you’re hiding. The best way to hide apps in a folder is to make the first page of apps those that you’re not trying to hide. If you have more spare apps, you may even want to fill the first two or three pages with apps. The key here is just to flood a folder with a lot of apps and hide a couple apps amongst the others. Here’s how to hide apps using folders:
Craig Hockenberry has been working with images and software for over 30 years. ‘iPhone App Development: The Missing Manual’ is a nice book but nowhere near complete enough for most people interested in getting into iPhone application development. At 300+ pages, this is more like an overview/skim of how to go about iPhone programming and that’s part of the problem here. The book makes assumptions that you are an Objective C person that can jump right in. Being that this is the case, I would expect there to be more references within, but the content is short on content. Material is broken up over 9 chapters covering a single example — Flashlight which is what I would want from a book like this.
There’s a lot to be said for iPhone and iPad app development. Unlike when you’re building a website, you get access to the full features of the iPhone and iPad, so can use their technology to your advantage. More importantly, you can charge money for games. Build a good app, and you could strike gold (or at least make a good living).
Swift 3 and Xcode 8 were released in Fall 2016. In this workshop Pasan Premaratne will show some of the things you’ll need to consider or be aware of when migrating your projects from a previous version.

BA course at JanBask was very beneficial in my role as a software trainer in a SaaS company. Lectures are very thorough yet simplistic enough for me to absorb and comprehend fully. All in all, very helpful course and an agreeable tone of voice for a lecturer.
Even if don’t want to learn Objective-C and go 100% the Swift way, learn this short course — it’s a very good starting point and knowing these topics should be enough for a Swift developer to not drown in the Objective-C sea.

Jump up ^ Lattner, Chris (June 11, 2014). “Re: [LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] [Advertisement] open positions in Apple’s Swift compiler team”. Retrieved June 12, 2014. You can imagine that many of us want it to be open source and part of LLVM, but the discussion hasn’t happened yet, and won’t for some time.[dead link]
Debugging can be a very time consuming and tedious time for you. If you don’t give up and persevere, in time you will get better at it. You will start to recognize the errors, track them down quickly, and even expect them on occasions. One common mistake is releasing an object from memory more than once. Another is forgetting to allocate memory and initialize an object before trying to add or assign to it. With each app your errors will become fewer and fewer.
Lately I’ve been giving some thought about what it would take for me to be able to replace my laptop with an iPad. I do most of my day to day work at a 5K iMac. I only use the laptop for work when I’m traveling or need a change of scenery. For example, yesterday we had some beautiful weather here in Washington, DC, so I spent some time working at an outdoor table at Starbucks.
If you love programming languages, you will love Objective-C. If you don’t know how to program, this is the part that can get pretty sticky, so you might want to find a programmer friend or hire someone. It really does help to get a book, too, for reference.
Theme and strategy. What are the app’s theme and strategy going to be like? Is it a happy, friendly app, or a stark and efficient business tool? Decide on your marketing strategy, and ensure that the app style matches your strategy up front.

Just connect your iPhone to an internet connection and select a site to play on. When you access some sites, you will be able to play right away and with others you will be prompted to download an app. The most important things to remember when you play is to stay safe and play securely, just like you would when playing on a desktop site.

To switch between other running apps, drag your finger up from the bottom of the screen when the dock is showing. You then see small preview windows of open apps and the iOS 11 Control Center, a panel of icons that serve as shortcuts to common system settings. Swipe the screen to the left or the right to see all the open app windows. (You can also double-click the home button to see this “app-switcher” screen.)
